How we handle
your personal data.

Plain English, no small print. This page explains what Capital Markets Academy collects, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law.

Last updated: 7 November 2026

1. Who we are

Capital Markets Academy (capitalmarketsacademy.com) is a forex and capital markets education academy founded and run by Sam Onigbanjo. We are the controller of the personal data described on this page, which means we decide how and why it is used.

For anything about your data, email sam@capitalmarketsacademy.com.

2. What we collect and why

We only collect what you choose to give us, plus the minimum technical data needed to run the website.

Mentorship applications

When you apply for mentorship on our homepage we collect your name, email, phone number and your answer to why you want to join. We use this to review your application and contact you about it. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you.

Contact form

When you use our contact page we collect your name, email, phone number and message, so we can reply. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.

The Capital Markets Academy Game

Level I of the game at game.capitalmarketsacademy.com is open to everyone. To unlock Levels II to V we ask for your name, email, your biggest trading need, an optional note, and whether you would like us to contact you. We also record your Level I score, the link you arrived from, and your browser type. We use this to send material that fits your need and, only if you said yes, to contact you about Academy programmes and free sessions. Our lawful basis is your consent for marketing, and our legitimate interest in running and improving the game.

Your game progress is saved in your own browser's local storage. It stays on your device and we cannot see it.

Voice Agent

If you start a call with our Voice Agent, the call is recorded and transcribed so we can follow up with you. You are asked to agree before the call starts. After the call we receive a short summary by email, which may include any name, email or phone number you mention. Our lawful basis is your consent.

Payments

Paid programmes are bought through Stripe. Stripe collects and processes your card details; we never see your full card number. We receive your name, email and confirmation of payment so we can give you access. Our lawful basis is performing our contract with you.

Courses and free programmes

Some free resources and programmes are delivered on our course platform at coaching.aiacademyforbeginners.com, which is run on Podia. When you sign up there, Podia's own terms and privacy policy also apply.

Technical data

Like every website, our hosting provider receives your IP address and basic browser information when you visit, to deliver pages and keep the site secure. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, which also receives your IP address. Videos on our homepage are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, so YouTube does not set cookies unless you play a video. Our mentorship form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam, which checks your browser without asking you to solve a puzzle. We do not use advertising or analytics tracking on this website.

3. Who helps us process your data

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers we use to run the Academy, and only for the purposes above:

Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens we rely on the legal safeguards they provide, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK-US data bridge.

4. How long we keep it

5. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

To use any of these rights, email sam@capitalmarketsacademy.com. We will respond within one month. It is free.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

6. Age

Our education and the game are for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be made clear on the website.
